Angry Confrontation

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of confrontation taking place in the countryside. At right, a man leans forward with an angry scowl as he raises a kama or sickle behind his back. His chin thrust forward aggressively, he holds a cloth-wrapped bundle in his other hand and wears a coat with an unusual wood grain pattern. In the center, a frightened beauty turns her head away as she holds up a round mirror wrapped in cloth, the fellow behind her grasping the other edge. She has a basket of greenery on her back as if just returning from the fields. The man at left sneers as he holds his hands behind his back, making no move to intervene. Nice expressive figures, detailed with embossing on the beauty's tied-dyed under robe and trim and her obi.
