Panoramic View of Toshogu Shrine in Nikko, 1882

Comments - Terrific panoramic view of the impressive Toshogu Shrine complex at Nikko, set into the hillside surrounded by tall pines. Visitors climb steps to the various levels, passing through torii gates and past the colorfully and beautifully decorated structures. A wonderfully detailed image with nice vibrant color and incredible, each building carefully identified with a red name cartouche. Clouds edges with purple and dark pink drift across the scene. A handsome triptych of this sacred Shinto site, beautifully detailed.

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 26 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Small loss at corner, small wormhole in margin, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
