Entertaining Guests at a Teahouse, 1856 - Lovely depiction of beauties entertaining two male guests in the upper story of a teahouse in springtime. At right, a beauty plays the shamisen while the woman standing behind her gestures excitedly. The seated man smiles dreamily as he rests his cheek on his chin, enjoying the music. In the center, a low red lacquer table holds a meal, including a platter with a fish on it, and the other man looks up from his cup of sake with a frown as the courtesan at left reads a letter. Blossoming cherry trees frame the night scene. An attractive, interesting design with beautiful detail in the elegant fabrics and household furnishings.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Vertical folds at sides of one panel. Small thinning spot at edge, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases and small marks. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
