Lady Shizuka - Attractive design of the beauty Shizuka Gozen performing as a shirabyoshi dancer before the Shogun Yoritomo. Shizuka Gozen was the mistress of Yoritomo's brother Yoshitsune, with whom he was feuding. While Yoshitsune was in hiding, the Shogun sent for Shizuka Gozen to have her perform for him at the famous shrine at Tsurugaoka, hoping to trick her into revealing Yoshitsune's whereabouts, but she kept his secret. Known for her beauty and dancing skill, Shizuka Gozen waves a fan gracefully as a musician keeps time at left. A nicely detailed design.

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9 1/4"
