Series; The New Biography of Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Shinsen Taikoki), 1883

Wada Koremasa and His Followers Rescuing Ashikaga Yoshiteru, 1883 - Handsome design of Wada Koremasa, head of the Wada clan, rescuing the young Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiteru. He carries the nobleman on his back, a fierce expression on his face as he pauses to look over his shoulder. Two retainers follow behind, one shielding his eyes with his hand as he scans the horizon for enemies. The mountains are dotted with cherry trees covered with pink and white blossoms, the flowers faintly embossed. Nice expressive figures with touches of burnishing on the black court caps. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 18 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
