Beauties Enacting a Daimyo's Procession by the Seashore

Comments - Beautiful illustration of beauties enacting a daimyo's procession, pausing along the shore while the woman in the center looks at a verse. An attendant holds an umbrella over the elegant young woman while she reads the poem slip, a companion in front of her holding a black lacquer tray. The beauty's blue kimono features a design of fans and blossoms, the sleeves trimmed with bows. Three of the women are dressed in male roles as palace guards, wearing white vests and black lacquer hats. Waves ripple the surface of the sea behind them, and a large pine tree arches overhead. A lovely Edo era beauty subject, rarely seen in reprint.

Artist - Rekisentei Eiri (active circa 1781 - 1818)

Image Size - 15 1/4" x 29" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Paper remnants on reverse at top edges from previous mounting. A few wormholes, pinholes in corners, repaired. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
