Original Eisen (1790 - 1848) Japanese Woodblock Print
Dolls

Series; Eight Favorite Things in the Modern World

Dolls - Charming portrait of a beauty with a geisha doll from Eisen's series depicting favorite things. She smiles happily as she examines the toy, holding it carefully. Her gray kimono features a maple leaf pattern in green and light blue with a black collar, worn over a red under robe with a cherry blossom print collar, tied with a striped obi. A small inset at upper left shows a seated court beauty in a wooden case, used for display during the annual Doll Festival. An attractive design, nicely detailed. We've never offered this subject before.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 15" x 10 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small loss at corner, a few holes, repaired. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
