Captive Beauty over a Well

Comments - Dramatic kabuki scene of a captive beauty bound with a rope and suspended over a well. At lower right, a retainer struggles to hold her weight, grimacing as he grips the rope. Water streams from the beauty's kimono, her black hair flowing down over her shoulders. An unusual subject with fine bokashi shading in the night sky.

Artist - Yoshiiku (1833 - 1904)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 5/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
