Noblemen Watching Martial Arts Practice

Comments - Fantastic scene of nobleman watching samurai practicing martial arts. The daimyo watch from a pavilion atop a stone embankment as the warriors charge at each other will wooden poles with padded tips instead of spears. On either side, generals direct the exercises using their tasseled command batons. A bamboo fence encloses the arena. A fascinating look at samurai preparing for battle, wonderfully detailed. A nice subject for a collector interested in the samurai tradition. We've never before come across this Sadahide design.
