Emperor's Carriage and View of Nijubashi Bridge - Handsome depiction of the Meiji Emperor and Empress leaving the Imperial Palace in a royal carriage topped with a golden phoenix. Two drivers sit on a bench draped with a red cloth trimmed with fringe, holding the reins and whips as the horses walk along. Soldiers on horseback accompany the couple as the procession crosses the arched stone Nijubashi or Niju Bridge at left, with the towers of the castle beyond. A beautifully detailed design with vibrant color and burnishing on the black areas of the carriage.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Slight soiling, a few creases. Small paper remnants at two corners. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
