Original Yoshitora (active circa 1840 - 1880) Japanese Woodblock Print
Smiling Beauty, 1854

Comments - Lovely portrait of a beauty smiling as she looks modestly over her shoulder, pulling up her collar with one hand. She wears a blue and white checked kimono with designs in the squares, tied with a black obi that reverses to pink. A scattering of confetti-like shapes accent the background, with a softly shaded border of clouds above. A charming, classic Edo era beauty.

Artist - Yoshitora (active circa 1840 - 1880)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Small wormhole, repaired. Slight soiling, creasing at top edge, a few marks, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
