Suikoden: Heroes Battle in Kasakawara, Shimousa, 1864

Comments - Fantastic scene of a battle along a river in Kasakawara, Shimousa, with commoners fighting along the rocky banks. In the center, a sumo wrestler stands with his foot atop the back of a fallen enemy, brandishing his sword with an angry grimace. The sleeves of his wave print kimono are tied back with a blue sash, revealing an upper body tattoo. Many of the men also have upper body or full body tattoos, some of them wearing only white loincloths. A full moon glows in the night sky, with the battle continuing in the distance at upper right, the figures in dark silhouette, some with glowing red lanterns. An intriguing design with expressive figures and terrific detail.
