The Ide Jewel River in Yamashiro Province

Series; Six Jewel Rivers of the Floating World

The Ide Jewel River in Yamashiro Province - Attractive portrait of a beauty standing before an inset in the shape of a Toshidama seal, with a view of the Ide Jewel River in Yamashiro Province. She smiles happily as she looks over her shoulder, pulling up the collar of her boldly checked kimono while lifting the edge of her striped blue apron. Her lavender obi reverses to a striped pattern. Above, the full moon is reflected on the water of the Ide River, the scene framed by bush clover. The Toshidama seal was used by artists of the Utagawa School, of which Kunisada was a member. A terrific design from a rarely seen beauty series.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 3/4" x 10 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small, slightly thinned spot. Slight soiling, a few small spots and light creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
