Nursemaid and Faithful Retainer

The evil magician Nikki Danjo has transformed himself into a rat to sneak into the palace where the loyal nursemaid Masaoka is watching over the heir to steal an incriminating scroll. Hear, the matron and the faithful retainer Otokonosuke investigate the noise made by Danjo, the beauty holding a lantern aloft as she kneels on the verandah. Below, the samurai as drawn his dirk in preparation to defend the heir if necessary. A nicely detailed setting.
