Series; Forty-eight Famous Views of Edo

Forty-eight Famous Views of Edo - Terrific landscape design from Hiroshige II's "Forty-Eight Famous Views of Edo." This handsome series was published from 1860 to 1861, quite early in Hiroshige II's career. These attractive scenes feature classic views of famous landmarks and beautiful scenery in and around Edo, in a variety of seasons. From temples surrounded by blossoming cherry trees to busy harbors or crowded streets, these charming images capture life in old Edo in colorful detail.

Image Size - 8 7/8" x 6 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with good color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse from previous mounting. Slight separation at end of vertical fold at side, hole, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few crease, paper remnant at side. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
