Hatsune, Chapter 23: Princess Umegae and Sasaki Gennosuke Takamasa, 1864 - Charming image of Princess Umegae and Sasaki Gennosuke Takamasa. The young man kneels before her, looking up with an unhappy frown. He holds a short bamboo pole as he pushes up his sleeve, a water dipper and rolled up straw mat on the ground beside him. The beauty smiles at him shyly, holding her kimono sleeve to her chin. A bench behind her is covered with a fine cloth and holds a bird cage and tobacco set. A blossoming plum tree frames the scene overhead. Above, a bird perches on a blue towel drying on a rack. An attractive design with fine color and detail.
