Series; Comparisons for the Five Elements

Water: The Drifting Boat, circa 1851 - 1852 - Handsome depiction of Prince Genji and two beauties on a drifting boat (ukifune). He reclines against a warmer decorated with maple leaves, a heavy robe draped over him, smiling as he looks out at the ducks bobbing on the undulating water. The seated beauty at left gestures at the birds while the woman at right poles the craft along using a bamboo pole. The shore and trees behind them are covered with snow. Nicely detailed with soft shading in the water and sky, and delicate embossing in the white kimono trim.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases, stain. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
