Nakamura Shikan as Inuzuka Shino, 1863

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan as Inuzuka Shino, one of the Eight Dog Warriors, battling atop the roof of the Horyukaku, a tower of Koga Castle. His feet spread firmly apart on the tiled roof, he grips his sword with both hands, a determined frown on his face. A row of lanterns can be seen along the bottom edge, and a full moon glows in the night sky. A handsome image from this famous tale.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnant at top edge. A couple small spots, a few creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
