Heroes of the Taiheiki - Yoshikazu's series "Heroes of the Taiheiki" depicts warriors from the epic Japanese story "The Taiheiki" (The Chronicle of the Great Peace), which details the warring period between the Northern and Southern courts in the 14th century. These lively scenes show samurai in the midst of battle, fighting on horseback or grappling with enemies in hand-to-hand combat. Each figure is set against a night sky, often with the silhouettes of trees or of samurai fighting in the background. A rarely seen series. These beautifully detailed designs are a great choice for a collector interested in the samurai tradition.
