Beauty with an Umbrella Kakemono

Comments - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty strolling with an umbrella in hand. She looks over her shoulder with a slight smile, her tongue just visible. She wears a checked kimono tied with a green geometric print obi, and tall geta clogs with spotted straps. Her hair is pulled back into two knots, adorned with a comb and hairpins, one decorated with a gourd and the other with an intricate floral medallion with beaded fringe. A charming image, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 28 3/4" x 9 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Creasing, slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
