Courtesan and Beauty with a Shamisen

Comments - Attractive scene of a beauty holding a shamisen atop its black lacquer case as she adjusts the bridge. She wears a green kimono tied with a brown checked obi with diamond motifs, her hair pulled back into a sleek bun. Her companion checks her hairpin as she chats with the musician, dresses in a red tie-dyed robe border with gray plaid over a red and white checked kimono, tied with a black sash. A classic Edo era beauty design by Eizan.

Artist - Eizan (1787 - 1867)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 10 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal and vertical folds at edges. C-shaped tear and small loss, a few holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few spots and creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
