Comments - Terrific kabuki design featuring a wholesale lumber shop. A barber stands at left, looking over his shoulder with a somewhat puzzled expression. He carries a black lacquer chest filled with tools, including a few combs in the small compartment on top. At right, a beauty stands in the entrance to the shop, a wooden pail in hand and a striped apron tied over her kimono. The boy next to her holds a letter. A fascinating design with expressive figures and wonderful detail in the setting.
