Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

A Matchless Beauty - Fantastic okubi-e or large head portrait of a beauty holding a roll of tissues, prominently displaying a gold ring on her little finger. She wears a lovely plum colored kimono with a delicate leaf and scroll design, and a red and white tie-dyed under robe. Her hair is pulled back into an elegant style, ornamented with hairpins and a pink bow. A lovely subject, rare to find in reprint.
