The Journey to the West - Great Taito II illustration from the book "The Journey to the West," a Chinese novel about a monk traveling to the West to obtain Buddhist sutras, accompanied by his disciples, including the Monkey King Songaku (Sun Wukong in Chinese). The epic story was released in 40 volumes between 1806 and 1837. A nice example of Taito II's book illustrations.
