Beauties Traveling and View of Mt. Fuji

Comments - Lovely seen of beauties traveling with a snow-capped peak of Mt. Fuji dominating the horizon. A woman leads the way carrying a carefully wrapped standard over her shoulder, followed by a princess riding on a dappled horse led by a beauty acting as a groom or page. The princess shades her eyes with one hand as she looks ahead, the long sleeves of her bamboo print kimono hanging at her sides. Another beauty brings up the rear, sheltering the princess with an umbrella. A band of clouds runs across the middle, and the tall standards of a daimyo's procession can be seen above the foliage in the distance. A beautiful design with wonderful detail.

Artist - Utamaro (1750 - 1806)

Image Size - 9" x 13 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Remnants of paper hinge mounts on reverse at top corners. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
