The Tea Ceremony - These lovely woodblocks are from a series of prints by Toshikata illustrating the Japanese tea ceremony. Beautifully drawn and delicately colored, these tranquil designs capture the harmony and beauty associated with this classic ritual. Prints from this terrific series rarely come on the market. A wonderful choice for display, or for any collector interested in this timeless Japanese ceremony.

Hanging Blinds - Charming scene of the host and her assistant preparing the garden for the arrival of visitors. The assistant hangs blinds made of reeds to shield guests from the sun while admitting the cool breeze. The host adds water to the stone basin where guests wash before entering the tea house. Wonderful delicate color and detail in the plants and trees, and the bamboo fence.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. Vertical centerfold. Small number on title cartouche. Some prints have slight soiling or a stain at the edge. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
