The Tea Ceremony - These lovely woodblocks are from a series of prints by Toshikata illustrating the Japanese tea ceremony. Beautifully drawn and delicately colored, these tranquil designs capture the harmony and beauty associated with this classic ritual. Prints from this terrific series rarely come on the market. A wonderful choice for display, or for any collector interested in this timeless Japanese ceremony.

Arranging Flowers - In this image, a beauty selects seasonal flowers for a new arrangement to go in the traditional alcove called a "tokonoma." Her companion prepares to hang a scroll with a painting appropriate to the season or a calligraphy verse to encourage conversation between the host and the guests. The colorful maple leaves outside the window suggest autumn, as do the yellow chrysanthemums.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. Vertical centerfold. Small notation on title cartouche. Some prints have slight soiling or a stain at the edge. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
