Wife of Tokugawa Ieshige, No. 9 - Beautiful woodblock print showing the wife of Tokugawa Ieshige, the ninth shogun, writing a poem on a verandah, brush in hand. She looks out at the full moon in the evening sky, reflected in the shimmering waters of the lake below. An elaborate festival decoration hangs overhead, and she wears a deep purple kimono patterned with bright flowers. A lovely scene with fine detail, including delicate embossing on her white kimono collar.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small hole, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and stains, small hole at edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
