Series; Wives of the Tokugawa Shoguns, 1879

Wife of Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, No. 5 - Handsome design of the fifth Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi's young wife and an attendant. Her long black hair is loose and flowing down her back, and she has the "moth wing" eyebrows fashionable during her era. Her white robe is beautifully embossed, as is the white collar of her attendant. Nice architectural detail in the background of this attractive woodblock.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small hole, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
