Bairei Gakan - Kono Bairei's series "Bairei Gakan" (Bairei Drawings) was originally published in seven volumes in 1903 by Shigemoto Ryonosuke. Each volume features 15 woodblocks with a variety of subjects, from landscapes and animals to flowers, insects, shrines, and people. Bairei was well-known for his lyrical kacho-e or birds and flower prints. These charming designs are drawn with beautiful calligraphic line work and attractively colored.

This presentation - This complete Volume 6 of "Bairei Gakan" includes 15 woodblock prints, a title page, and a table of contents in Japanese. The prints are loose and have never been bound into volume form as is typical for this series. These are first edition prints, dated Meiji 36 (1903) on the title page. A great opportunity to collect a complete volume of one of Bairei's most well-known works.
