Original Eizan (1787 - 1867) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty Carrying a Parcel Kakemono, circa 1818 - 1823

Comments - Beautiful kakemono or vertical diptych of a smiling young beauty carrying a parcel wrapped in cloth under her arm. She lifts the edge of her kimono with her other hand, revealing her under robe. She wears a gray kimono patterned with cherry blossoms and maple leaves, tied with an obi with wide stripes in blue and rust, the rust color featuring a pattern of the takaramono or precious things. A lovely Edo era beauty subject that would make an attractive display.

Artist - Eizan (1787 - 1867)

Image Size - 27 7/8" x 9 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Horizontal fold between panels. A few small holes and thinning spots, repaired.
