Original Yoshifuji (1828 - 1889) Japanese Woodblock Print
Kato Kiyomasa Kakemono

Comments - Handsome kakemono or vertical diptych of the great daimyo Kato Kiyomasa, who fought in Toyotomi Hideyoshi's army and was one of the three senior generals during the Seven Year War in Korea. He sits atop a stool staring straight ahead with a determined grimace, wearing a colorful vest over a suit of armor and a robe tucked into floral pants. His horned battled helmet features his circular mon or family crest, which also appears on the standard behind him. A nicely detailed image that would make a great framed display.

Artist - Yoshifuji (1828 - 1889)

Image Size - 26 7/8" x 8 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. A few small holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases, slight curling. Please note: due to the size, this print may be shipped rolled. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
