Departure from Camp in the Snow at Kawajiri, 1877 - Interesting scene of Saigo Takamori and the rebels leaving camp at Kawajiri during the Satsuma Rebellion. He rides a brown horse at right, wearing a military uniform and plumed hat, watching as his troops make their way across the valley below in the snow. Red and white flags flutter above the samurai, their shoulders covered with snow. A dynamic design with a dramatic winter mountain setting.
