Series; Thirty-six Tokyo Restaurants
Kogiku in Sarawaka-cho, circa 1878 - Attractive portrait of the beauty Kogiku in a restaurant in Sarawaka-cho, holding a small blue and white ceramic sake cup gracefully in one hand, smiling as she looks over her shoulder. In her other hand she holds a roll of tissues wrapped around a purse. She wears a purple kimono tied with a tan brocade obi over a red under robe with a patterned color. The inset above shows the curved wooden railing of a bridge disappearing in the mist. The background features a red tie-dyed textile pattern above with a floral design below. A handsome design with fine detail in the hair.
