Comments - Terrific group portrait of the sixteen Tokugawa shoguns seated under a purple and white drapery patterned with the Tokugawa mon or family crest of three hollyhock leaves. Most of the men wear armor, while a few wear formal court robes or elegant vests over their armor. Each man is carefully identified by a name cartouche. A handsome woodblock with bright color, nicely detailed. A great choice for a samurai enthusiast.
