Hour of the Dragon (8 am)

Series; Twelve Hours of Spring Pleasures

Hour of the Dragon (8 am) - Attractive image of a beauty smoothing the back of her hair with a comb as she sits in bed, a roll of tissues in her mouth. She wears a red tie-dyed kimono edged with purple fabric with rows of flower petals, tied with a blue and green brocade. A heavy plaid quilt is pushed to the side, with a pillow at right. The rectangular inset above shows laborers carrying items through a still dark morning. A charming beauty subject, nicely colored and detailed.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous mounting. Slight toning, a couple creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
