Original Nishijima (born 1945) Japanese Woodblock Print
Tanuki at Shigaraki

Katsuyuki Nishijima - Kyoto artist Katsuyuki Nishijima is known for his beautiful contemporary woodblock prints in the sosaku hanga tradition, designing, carving, and printing each block himself. Inspired by the beauty of Japan, Nishijima illustrates traditional inns and quiet streets, glorious sunsets and dusky evenings, spring blossoms and summer fields. These lovely prints capture the charm of traditional Japanese buildings and landscapes, evoking a romantic view of old Japan yet with a distinctly modern artistic sensibility. These limited edition prints are pencil signed and numbered by the artist in the lower margin. A wonderful choice for the modern collector, they also make striking framed displays.

A Special Nishijima Collection - We recently acquired a beautiful group of limited edition Nishijima prints from a prominent dealer in Tokyo, who is selling off his deep inventory. These are rare, desirable subjects not commonly seen on the market, from the dealer's own personal collection. These prints are all numbered "A. P." (Artist's Proof). We are delighted to offer this special group to our Fuji Arts customers. These are rare items we won't come across again. Don't miss this opportunity to add a terrific Nishijima contemporary print to your collection!
