Naoyuki Conquers the Old Badger at Fukashima's Mansion, 1866 - Interesting scene inside Fukushima's mansion of the samurai Ban Naoyuki investigating the appearance of a magical badger. He sits on the floor, glaring angrily as he looks ahead, his chin propped on top of his folded fan. At right, another samurai peers around the opening of a sliding panel decorated with a tiger and waterfall, his hand clenched into a fist. His page kneels at his side holding his sword. The standing screen at left features a crashing wave with Yoshitoshi's signature at left. Nice expressive figures in a handsomely detailed interior setting.
