Girls' Day and Doll Festival - Beautiful scene of Girls' Day festivities at Chiyoda Palace. Traditionally, Girls' Day involved praying for the health and happiness of daughters as well as the display of hina dolls at the homes of Japanese girls. A large tiered display holds rows of dolls representing the Emperor and Empress and members of the court, along with offerings, with a crowd kneeling below. A charming subject.
