Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Samurai Reaching for His Sword

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of a samurai reaching for his sword, leaning forward with an angry scowl. His feet are spread firmly apart, the fabric of his long pants trailing beneath his feet. Another sword rests on the floor nearby, and the light blue background features a pattern of circular crests in white. A handsome design.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Remnants of paper hinge mounts on reverse at top corners. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight toning at edges, slight soiling, a few small spots and creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
