Comments - Great image of the bustling waterfront during a fireworks display over Ryogoku Bridge on a summer night. Pedestrians stroll along the crowded street in the foregound, stopping at the tea stands and vendors along the water's edge. At left, a melon seller has piles of cut and uncut fruit on display, and busies himself cutting a melon into strips for a waiting customer. The bridge is crowded with pedestrians enjoying the evening cool and watching the fireworks display as shells explode in radiating rays of light overhead. Many pleasure boats and smaller craft move up and down the Sumida River. A wonderful look at this favorite summer pastime, with incredible detail capturing the lively waterfront scene.
