A Fuji Arts special offer auction
Wisteria at Kameido, circa 1839 - 1842 - Terrific view of the wisteria in bloom at Kameido Tenjin Shrine in Edo. Visitors relax at a tea stand beneath an arbor festooned with delicate blossoms, looking out over the water and the shrine. At right, waitress sits behind a counter holding a teakettle on a warmer and shelves of cups. Three women stroll past, along with a boy carrying a votive plaque. At left, a woman smokes a pipe as she sits on a bench, a young child behind her gesturing excitedly as he looks across the pond. A charming spring scene, wonderfully detailed, also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
