Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Courtesan Takigawa of Ogiya - Lovely Utamaro okubi-e or large head portrait of the courtesan Takigawa of the Ogiya House just after a bath. She pats the back of her neck dry with the sleeve of her tie-dyed cotton kimono. Beautifully detailed with fine line work in the hair. A charming design showing a young woman in a private moment.
