Serving a Meal, 1883 - Attractive scene of a traveler taking a rest under a tree at the side of a road. He sits on a straw mat, reaching for a dish of rice offered to him by a kneeling servant. A low red lacquer tray before him holds more food. At right, a Chinese nobleman on horseback watches silently, a retainer next to him holding a fluttering red flag trimmed with fringe. A handsome composition with attractive detail and soft bokashi shading.

Artist - Yoshitoshi (1839-92)

Image Size - 8" x 10" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Slight separation at ends of vertical centerfold, tear and small losses at edges, a couple pinholes, repaired. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
