The Seven Lucky Gods

Comments - Terrific group portrait of the Seven Lucky Gods, with each deity appearing in a colorful circular inset against a deep red background. The smiling Daikoku sits at top left on two bails of rice, holding his magic mallet in one hand and his bag of treasure in the other. The only female Lucky God, Benzaiten, is shown at center, her robes swirling around her as she looks over her shoulder. The armor-wearing Bishamonten is featured at top right, gripping a pole arm with one hand and a small treasure pagoda in the other. Beautifully drawn and colored with wonderful detail, including delicate cloth embossing on the bags held by Daikoku and Hotel at left. A great design of these auspicious deities.
