Beauty Caught between Enemies

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a beauty caught between two enemies in the middle of the street. Kneeling beside a street light, she throws her hands wide with alarm, a worried expression on her face as she eyes the fellow at right, who holds his sword between both hands. The man at left has already drawn back his sword, and he stares across the street with a worried frown. The sleeves of his striped kimono are pushed down to the waist, revealing an intricately patterned tie-dyed under robe. The buildings lining the road recede into the distance in dark gray shadow against the night sky. A great design with expressive figures and wonderful architectural detail.
