The Sengakuji Temple Festival in Takanawa, in the Eastern Capital, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Great design of beauties on pleasure boats during the Sengakuji Temple Festival in Takanawa, Edo, the sails billowing in the breeze. The beauty in the center shades her eyes with her folding fan as she looks ahead, smiling happily with her hand atop the roof of the cabin. At lower left, a beauty reaches into a tobacco pouch to fill her pipe, a blue and white cloth protectively covering her hairdo. Tea shops crowded with patrons line the opposite shore. A handsome design with a bold composition.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 28 3/4" + top margin as shown
