Actor Portraits by Torii Kiyotada VII - Dramatic kabuki portrait by the renowned artist Torii Kiyotada VII. His lively, colorful images capture the mood and intensity of each actor in his role, from intimate and expressive close-ups to full figures in atmospheric settings. His terrific designs are beautifully drawn with a wide variety of line work, ranging from bold calligraphic strokes to delicate details. Many of his prints include additional deluxe embellishments such as burnishing and embossing. A rare actor portrait by Kiyotada, and a great choice for a collector interested in Japanese theater.

Special detail - Beautifully printed with a shimmering silver mica background, fine bokashi shading in the hair and eyebrows, embossing on the end of the roll of tissues, and two different embossed patterns on the white kimono collar and white kimono trim.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse at top corners and top center from previous mounting. Diagonal fold. Slight toning, a few creases, a couple small rubbed spots, faint indented writing in top margin. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
