Original Kuniteru I (active circa 1820 - 1860) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty and Toys, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Attractive portrait of a beauty standing beside a display with two small toys hanging from slender bamboo poles resting atop it. She grins as she looks over her shoulder, holding a folded fan between her hands. Her kimono is shaded from violet to lavender with a white blossom pattern, tied with a geometric print obi. A border of clouds separates the figure from a view of an arched bridge with Mt. Fuji in the distance at right, the top of a torii gate just visible. A charming design.

Artist - Kuniteru I (active circa 1820 - 1860)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 7/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few wormholes, repaired. Creasing, slight toning and soiling, a few stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
