Comments - Handsome portrait of Princess Yaegaki holding a horned magic helmet with a flowing white wig. Intent on delivering the heirloom to her sweetheart, Takeda Katsuyori, to save him from death, she encountered a frozen lake she could not cross. She prayed to the god of the Suwa Shrine, who sent a magic fox to help her across the ice. Here, she dances about with the helmet, which seems to glow against the dark sky around her, smiling as she looks over her shoulder. She wears a white kimono with a beautiful pastel floral pattern, the petals delicately embossed. A striking design with lovely detail, including additional embossing in the white wig and kimono collar, and burnishing in the black hair.
